BAD APPLES!--OUT THEY GO! 12/87 DO 2398
[EDITED: "HomeARC note (9/98): The Charter is the source of current Family policy and rules regarding the discipline of minors. Please "Appendix E: Family Discipline Guidelines: Summary," The Love Charter, for current Family policies."]
1. One bad apple can spoil the whole bunch! They can be more trouble than all of the rest of them put together! We have to let it be known we're not going to tolerate that kind of kids! I have no patience with that kind! I dealt with'm just like I did their parents & the older people, & if they don't respond very quick, out they go, before they cause too much trouble & spoil the whole bunch! You know what I did about the teen terrors! (See ML #1512.)
2. We can't be putting up with one spoiled rotten apple just to relieve his parents & let them spoil the whole School! Just forget it! I'd sooner do without him & his parents, because his parents have usually made him what he is!
3. One thing you can't do is let those teens get away with anything! Let me tell you, I really cracked down on'm! I loved'm & I was good to'm & they knew it & we had a lot of fun together, but boy, I cracked down on the miscreants & they knew I wouldn't put up with them!
4. I have emphasised this time & again!--You cannot let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch! No matter how much you try to help them or their parents, if they don't immediately respond & immediately get under control & cause no more trouble, I'd give them the last, final warning & say, "Listen! That's it! You've had it! One more time & out you go, back to your parents, & if they can't take it, out they go!" Lord help us! That really gets me! Whew!
5. They say in their report: "We've got to try to help the Shepherds in the Ministry Home take care of their little savage because they're so important & we need to help them!" blah, blah!--Forget it! The best way in the World to help'm is to send the little tyrant back to them & let them have to put up with him, even if they can't keep on with their other ministry. They've got to start ministering to their child first, & if they can't do that, they're not any good for the rest of the Family!--Neither they nor their child! They're a poor example & the kid is a terror to the School, & I'm not going to put up with it!
6. Let me tell you, there's only one way to get on top of things with those young teens who are the worst disciplinary problem of any age! Even the public schools recognise that, they pay teachers who have to teach the 7th & 8th grades more than any other teachers in high school, more than younger ages or seniors, because they're the worst disciplinary problems!--And if you don't crack down you're lost, absolutely lost!
7. I started cracking down, let me tell you [DELETED] & I really socked it to them! [DELETED] [EDITED: "T"]hey knew I meant it, I wouldn't put up with it any more!
8. With all the burdens those leaders have got & everything else, putting up with some rascal, just forget it! Give him one last warning & that's it! One more infraction, one more problem & out he goes! (Maria: In other words, if they backslide, let'm backslide!)--Yes! If the Truth kills, let it kill! (See ML #678.)
9. You can't let them get away with a thing! If they get away with one thing, they think they can get away with everything, & they lead all the rest astray! And they're always leaders! One goat in the bunch will lead the whole flock of sheep astray!--Because it's lots easier to be bad than it is to be good, it comes natural!
10. The sooner you get rid of them, the better, before they rot the whole bunch! They can give other kids ideas that they never dreamed of! Boy, I'll tell you, I taught that age & I know what I'm talking about! You've got to get tough, strict & crack down on'm! You let'm know you love'm, that you're having mercy on'm, give'm one more chance, but then that's it!
11. Let me tell you, I haven't been known for being any little sweet, namby-pamby, put-up-with-a-lot kind of a general! I'm tough! Either they toe the mark & they do it quick, or [DELETED] that's it! I wouldn't put up with those guys for a minute! I've told you before, Honey!
12. Do you know where they send rich boys, juvenile delinquents before they finally land in homes for the delinquents? Rich parents send'm to Military Academies where they're really tough on them & beat on them if they don't behave! Really tough! (Maria: It's good for our kids to see that the System is even harder on their kids than we are. The kids have the idea we're so hard on them & they want to go out in the System & see how nice it is out there. So it's good for you to give them a few examples of the way the System treats their kids!)
13. That's one place where sports comes in, helping kids work off excess energy!--And also very hard labour outside chopping down trees & mowing lawns & doing a lot of good hard physical work outdoors! And teens have the energy, the guts & the nerves for taking care of children. Children that nearly drive their parents wild, they're already wild!--The children are.
14. Five teachers quit my class before I came along, they couldn't take it & they couldn't handle'm! So I came along & got tough, with Love, & I got on top of the situation. I was the first one who was able to control'm! I'll tell you, I had to really get in there & pitch! If Love didn't work, I pitched the chastening. [DELETED]--Heb.12:6. [DELETED]
15. [DELETED] [EDITED: "S"]ome of those bad boys lived in the fear of God in me! And I straightened them out, I'll tell you! And when I got done with the school year they loved me more than anybody else, because they knew I loved them or I wouldn't have gone to so much trouble to get tough with them!
16. Let me tell you, teens are a big problem! And if they're going to be too big a problem for them to handle, I'd just as soon they send them home! We had to do it once before when they didn't behave & didn't appreciate the school. We closed it down & sent'm home!
17. I wouldn't put up with any foolishness with the teens, I'd get in there & [DELETED] they'd either behave or get out! That's the only way I ever handled my teenage classes, & they knew I meant it! They'd say, "I'm going to call my Mom & Daddy!" And I'd say, "OK, go ahead & call them. Get'm down here so I can deal with them! They're probably your problem!--Your parents! They're the ones that need the lecture!"
18. We had all those spoiled rich kids in Huntington Beach at the Club, but I didn't put up with any foolishness! I was tough with them & they knew it! Let me tell you, I just told them off!--And they liked it, they respected it! They don't like namby-pambies. They don't like parents that let them get away with stuff. They like somebody that's tough & socks it to them! Then they believe the person loves them, if they make them do what they're supposed to do, just like God does! "Whom the Lord loveth He scourgeth!"
19. Our leaders just cannot get under a bondage to either the kings or the teens, either one. I'll tell you, we closed a school down before when the teenagers didn't appreciate it & didn't obey. In this case we'll close it down again or send them home! And if the kings don't behave themselves, we'll close it down for them. We don't need people when they get to be a bigger hindrance than help!
20. I've run schools & I've run teenagers & I ought to know what I'm talking about! There's only one way you can run an army & that's with discipline, & I mean tough discipline!
21. The teen supervisors just have to get tough! I was tough at the Club, I was tough in school, I was tough with my schools! I know what you have to do! You've got to have discipline with people, I don't care how old they are! I said before that if you loved them enough & you trained them well from the beginning & they were what they ought to be, you wouldn't have to spank'm. But God even has to spank us!
22. It's a good thing I'm not there at their school! I'd probably tear the place apart. Everybody would toe the mark & obey even if there wasn't anybody left!
23. They're having a problem with that 17-year-old Lamont. It's often significant what names people choose for themselves. My friend Lamont was very proud & very rebellious & a real rebel & a backslider & got killed as a result! He was constantly running away from the Lord. [DELETED]
24. The first thing I'd tell those people is, "Who wants to be here?"--And let them raise their hands & somebody jot down their names. Then, "Who doesn't want to be here?"--And let them raise their hands & pack'm up & send'm home!
25. I'll tell you what those teens need, they need a tough man over them!--A good ol' army sergeant who really knows how to crack the whip!
